A pre-built custom home — often called a pre-fabricated, modular home — is a pre-designed and constructed home built on an existing piece of land. Pre-built custom homes offer homeowners the opportunity to:

How soon can I move in to a pre-built home?

The amount of time it takes depends on the size, design, and features of the home. In general, you can expect to move in 4-7 months after the home’s list date, (and often sooner).

Can I tour the home before the move-in date?

Absolutely! We understand that buying a new home is an enormous commitment. We encourage all prospective homeowners to take a tour of our pre-built custom homes before moving in. Reach out to one of our customer care team, and they’d be happy to set up a time for you to inspect and tour our collection of pre-built homes.

Do you offer financing options with your pre-built homes?

The Canaan Builders’ building process has five total parts.

We perform an analysis of zoning laws and look into the feasibility of our new build.
We create a complete design with our architect, interior design, and construction contracting team.
We develop an estimate of the cost of the home.
After materials selection, design, and construction plans are in place, we start building.
Once a final punch list is complete, we list the home on the market. The home is then ready for you to tour!

Can I customize my pre-built home?

Every one of Canaan Builders’ pre-built, spec homes are designed and built to give you the option to add layers of customization to the existing foundation of the new home. We’d be more than happy to walk you through customization options for your new pre-built, custom home.
